Plan A
Launch from the small beach fronting Cooper's Cove parking lot ( adjacent to Galloping Goose Trail and Stickleback Westcoast Eatery). We will 'noodle' along the east edge of the Sooke Basin past Hutchison Cove until we reach the mouth of Gillespie Creek. From Gillespie Creek we will cross over to pass the south end of the Goodridge Islands and into Anderson Cove. We will circumnavigate the cove and have lunch at a small pocket beach near the mouth of the cove. After lunch, we will noodle the eastern shoreline of the basin again and then head into Roche Cove for a short 'loop' or in/out before heading back to the launch point.
After our paddle, we will 'retire' to the Stickleback Eatery for appies, libations and coffee/tea and do our paddle debrief.
Plan B
In the event of plus 10knot winds, we will launch from the small beach fronting Cooper's Cove parking lot ( adjacent to Galloping Goose Trail and Stickleback Westcoast Eatery) as per Plan A- but instead head along the north shoreline of Sooke Basin to the mouth of Sooke River. We can stop for lunch near the mouth of the river near Sooke River flats. After lunch we will head back east along the same shoreline to our launch point.
After our paddle, we will 'retire' to the Stickleback Eatery for appies, libations and coffee/tea and do our paddle debrief.
