Details:
Our leader will introduce the Plan and make sure everyone is comfortable with the requirements and any concerns that you may have. Please stay off the water until we are all ready. The leader may choose to enlist helpers and establish communications protocol. If you have VHF radio please bring it with you.
Plan A: We will launch while the tide is quite low at Cooper Cove and follow the shoreline clockwise around Hutchinson Cove and continue under the bridge into Roche Cove where we will stop for lunch and a break. After lunch we'll retrace the the route until we are opposite Lorimer Pt where we will make the .3 nm crossing to continue the route to our launch site. If you have a VHF radio (and know how to use it) please bring it along. This paddle is suitable for those wanting a sheltered route with a little more distance than a Light Paddle. Please bring suitable lunch or snacks and liquids and dress for possible immersion. Debriefing for those interested will follow at Stickleback Oceanfront Cider & Taphouse at Cooper Cove (they have non-alcoholic options and a kitchen). Approaching Cooper Cove in the morning, drivers are advised to continue past the cove and the Chevron gas station and make a left turn onto Laidlaw Rd to make their turn around.
