Details:
Build your confidence for paddling in and around currents. A fun clinic for learning to paddle in low to moderate currents. Space is limited to 6 participants.
Participants should all have Paddle Canada Level 1 or equivalent skill level and be prepared for possible immersion.
The Plan is to be dressed and kayak-ready at the beach by 8:30am for OTW by 9:00am. After checking your fit in your kayak, there will be a brief beach talk explaining about current behaviour and how to read the water to make use of the currents with various kayaking skills. Everyone will need be dressed for immersion and wear a helmet.
Please bring a snack/lunch and hydration (water, hot drink...) and additional clothing in case of immersion. On the way to Cadboro Point there will be opportunities to practice low bracing and low brace turns.

Note: Refunds for cancellations will be permitted until 2 weeks in advance of a paid workshop, clinic, or course. Within 2 weeks of such an event, refunds for cancellations will only be provided if another member registers and pays for the spot vacated.
