Details:
Our leader will introduce the Plan and make sure everyone is comfortable with the requirements and any concerns that you may have. Please stay off the water until we are all ready. Plan A:
Our trip starts at the Amherst launch, goes through the Little Group islets to Dock island, to Greig Island, across to Domville Island, then following the N shoreline of Gooch Island to our lunch spot on Rum Island. Our return trip follows the S shoreline of Gooch, across to the tip of Forest Island, then across to the tip of Sidney spit (different route than shown on the plot), and finally back to the Amherst Launch. For currents, we have a light flood for almost the entire trip, which is ideal for this route.
Plan B:
If the conditions do not allow a safe paddle to Rum island it is often possible to do a more protected paddle from the Amherst launch. Or, we will paddle at a different location.
