If you are an Upper-Beginner / Early-Intermediate paddler interested in moving into dynamic water
conditions, consider joining this three-part clinic series.

Part One
A two-hour Zoom-based instructional session presenting theory topics important for learning how to paddle in dynamic water. Topics will include: accessing and understanding current forecasts, observing and understanding current dynamics on the water, kayak fit, edging versus leaning, bracing, eddies, ferrying, and entering and exiting current.

Part Two
A two-hour pool session to learn and to practise balancing, edging, leg drive, hip flick, low- and high-bracing, sculling for support, and to review and reinforce wet-exit and re-entry techniques in a non-intimidating warm-water environment.

Part Three
We move outside onto the water to put into action the things we learned on Zoom and in the pool. This will be a three- to four-hour session at Tillicum-Gorge, where we can first practice skills in flat water, and then move into dynamic water as we watch the Tillicum current build.
