Plan A:
Take the ferry from Swartz to Pender on Monday morning. We will camp at the Oak Tree site at Port Browning Marina for the 3 nights. Since this will be a fairly large group, we will usually divide into two smaller groups for the day paddles. Car pooling is highly recommended
Monday's schedule will be to arrive on Pender on the morning ferry (arrives around 9am), and drop off kayaks at Port Browning. Then we'll drive to Thieves Bay to drop off some cars. Returning to Browning, we'll launch and paddle under the bridge between the Penders, then out around Wallace Point, and along the 20m bluff zone. We'll pull out at Thieves Bay after about 8nm and head to Browning to set up camp. Dinner at Port Browning Marina pub in the evening after a nice hike up Mt. Norman.
Tuesday and Wednesday we'll go in groups alternating the following trips:
a) a clockwise loop of South Pender with a late lunch at Poet's Cove pub (10nm) and a round of disc golf
b) cross to St John's Point for a 3km hike, then to play in Boat Passage via Irish Bay, and a late lunch at Saturna pub. (12nm)
Thursday we'll pack up camp early and drive to Mortimer Spit. We'll paddle to Taylor Point/Beach, then back to Saturna Beach for disc golf or Mount Warburton-Pike hit and lunch at the Sage Hayward bistro. The return to the Spit (total 11nm) will be in plenty of time to catch the 8pm ferry back to Victoria.
