Details:
Andrea is a Marine Service Technician (MST), kayak manufacture and repair specialist at Blackline Marine Inc. and is an instructor in the Quadrant Marine Institute. She has 15+ years experience in the industry and enjoys keeping up with changes in technology.
This is a full-day workshop, with a morning classroom session beginning at 9:30 am covering kayak materials, fabrication, maintenance practices and repair techniques including cables/lines, leaks, gelcoat and more. Following a lunch break, Andrea will assess attendees’ kayaks in the Blackline Marine repair shop. The workshop will end at about 3:00 pm. Blackline is offering the workshop for SISKA for the cost of labour and materials only.
5 kayaks can be accommodated on stands, but everyone is welcome to bring a boat along - some will have to sit on cardboard on the ground - and have their turn at Andrea’s professional assessment. She will do some maintenance on a few, but not all vessels, to demonstrate techniques. If you are bringing your kayak for assessment, please arrive at 9:00 am to unload your boat. Free parking is available across from the Blackline shops. Details labelled in the image below.
You are welcome to bring your lunch and use the classroom/breakroom tables, seats and microwave (coffee is available, but please bring your own mug), or head for the nearby Fox and Monocle coffee shop or Stonehouse Pub.
Cost:
The cost of this Off Water Clinic is $60
Note: Refunds for cancellations will be permitted until 2 weeks in advance of a paid workshop, clinic, or course. Within 2 weeks of such an event, refunds for cancellations will only be provided if another member registers and pays for the spot vacated.
