Plan A:
Starting from Spirit Bay (launch fee is $10 per kayak), we will follow the shoreline along the always-scenic East Sooke Park and onward to Cabin Point for lunch. We will retrace our route back to Spirit Bay.
A light ebb followed by a stronger flood after lunch make this a good day to paddle to Cabin Point, but only if the swell is behaving and the winds are copacetic. This is exposed, open water so immersion gear is mandatory and you should be comfortable in some amount of wind and chop.
Plan B:
If weather conditions are unfavorable for a Spirit Bay launch we will move toward Sooke, with a launch from either Whiffin Spit or Cooper Cove. The route will be determined at the time.
