Our leader will introduce the Plan and make sure everyone is comfortable with the requirements and any concerns that you may have. Please stay off the water until we are all ready. The leader may choose to enlist helpers and establish communications protocol. If you have VHF radio please bring it with you.
Plan A:
Depart from Cooper Cove paddling along the eastern shore of Sooke Basin into Roche Cove before making our way into Anderson Cove where we will stop for lunch before returning to Cooper Cove (probably) by way of the Goodridge Islands.
There are no washroom facilities at the launch or lunch locations.
Please note you can not turn left from Sooke Road (Hwy 14) into the parking lot at the Stickleback Taphouse. Proceed north until a safe/legal turn-around can be made so you can turn right into the parking lot at the Stickleback.
Tides start at a low of 0.6 feet at 1000hrs rising to about 1,5 feet by 1430hrs. Current is very rarely an issue paddling inside the protection of Sooke Basin.
