Plan A:
I borrowed this lovely trip write-up from a recent Alan Campbell led paddle to Russell Island. Thanks Alan!

'The small beach at Moses Point will be fine for us both leaving and returning, but take care to avoid the deep ditch while parking on the roadside, and remember to bring your wheels for the path to the steps.

We'll go around Russell Island counterclockwise on our way there to get a bit more distance and then land at the usual little shell beach at the west end.

Hiking down to the homestead is always enjoyable after lunch for a stretch and to check this year's apple crop prospects! There is a new pit toilet on Russell Island that was installed last year by Park Canada. Yeah!

On the way back, and counter to the attached plot, I prefer retracing our route along the mostly vacant Saltspring Island shore and then cross back to Moses Point when it makes sense to do so. This way we don't need to worry about any ferries after the Swartz/Fulford ferry and things always look different in reverse anyway!

The total distance on this route is about 10 nm.

Paddle debrief with goodies at the Roost. (East Saanich Rd and McTavish Rd.)
