Details:
Our leader will introduce the Plan and make sure everyone is comfortable with the requirements and any concerns that you may have. Please stay off the water until we are all ready. The leader may choose to enlist helpers and establish communications protocol. If you have VHF radio please bring it with you.
Plan A:
Depart Telegraph Cove (Bay) following the shoreline past Finnerty Cove, Arbutus Cove, and Glencoe Cove before rounding Gordon Head to Margaret Bay. Return following the same route. Lunch / rest stop at either Margaret Bay or Glencoe Cove. There are a couple of notable sea caves along the route, seabirds are usually plentiful, seals and sea lions and whales have been seen.
This is a NEW MEMBERS paddle, but all are welcome. It is always nice to have a few regular club members.
We have the tides going out all day, until 4PM, so we can expect a little help on our way home after lunch. If we 'noodle' the shoreline on the way out, we shouldn't be bad at all.
Plan B:
This is a usually protected paddle, but if winds do go up from S or SE, we may have to adjust.
