Details:
Our leader will introduce the Plan and make sure everyone is comfortable with the requirements and any concerns that you may have. Please stay off the water until we are all ready. The leader may choose to enlist helpers and establish communications protocol. If you have VHF radio please bring it with you.
Plan A:
Leaving the Cedar launch, we will head east through the 'cut' between Link and DeCourcey Islands and towards the cliffs near the northern tip of Valdes Island. We will then go through Gabriola Passage and the south tip of Gabriola Island and a tour of Silva Bay. After noodling the small islets in and around Silva Bay, we will head to our lunch spot on Saturnina Island. After lunch, we will head south again around Breakwater Island and small coves on Valdes Island, we will head back through Gabriola Passge and then on to the cut again between Link and DeCourcey for our eventual stop at the Cedar boat ramp.

Total distance approximately 14nmi.

We can do a paddle debrief at the Wheatsheaf Pub in Cedar. It is a nice way to finish up a great day of paddling.
Plan B:
May 23 - UPDATE: Paddle plan is being changed to Plan B due to increasing east winds from the Strait of Georgia. The plan is to now leave Cedar and head along the west side of DeCourcey and Ruxton Islands. This route will keep us ion the lee of the east wind. We can lunch on Ruxton Island. Our route back can be along the east side of Ruxton/DeCourcey islands if the winds and sea state look OK., If not- we will head back along the west side again back to the Cedar boat launch.

Paddle distance is a bit shorter at 12nm.

For our post paddled debrief- we will now stop at the Crow and Gate Pub in south Cedar. A lovely spot for a 'refreshment' break and good appies.
