Route plan A
We'll ferry on Sunday Aug 9 from Swartz Bay to Fulford Harbour, then drive to Hudson Point, NE SSI to launch and paddle the 8 nm past Wallace I and Reid I through Porlier Pass to Dionisio Provincial Park on NE Galiano I. http://bcparks.ca/explore/parkpgs/dionisio_pt/
We'll camp there for 3 nights and return on Wednesday August 12 the same way we came, ferrying back from Fulford Harbour to Swartz Bay once again. On August 10 and 11, the two full days we're staying at Dionisio, we can paddle back through Porlier Pass and N up the W coast of Valdes I, and/or across Porlier Pass and N up the E side of Valdes I. These or other day paddling trips will be negotiated with participating paddlers, and may be 10-15 nm, depending on paddlers' preferences. Alternately, there are lovely hiking routes in Dionisio PP and along the coast to explore!

Paddles on this trip are classified as Energizer due to crossings and currents along the routes. Energizer paddles are open to PC Level 1 paddlers and above. The trip is intended to introduce those who have paddling skills and experience to kayak camping in the nearby Gulf Islands.
NB: The trip involves an early start from home on Sunday August 9 to catch the Fulford Harbour ferry, and a late return home from Fulford Harbour on Wednesday August 12. Launch and landing times are designed to ensure that the group paddles through Porlier Pass at close to slack current.
Route plan B
If the forecast winds are too strong for our trip it may be relocated or rescheduled, depending on wind direction and intensity.
