Plan A:
Welcome to the Nanaimo Paddlers!! Our paddle will begin at the Oak Bay Marina- on the north side of the marina property. Lots of parking along Beach Drive beside our launch point. After launching- we will paddle between the marina and Mary Tod Island to Fiddle Reef and then across Plumper Passage to the gap between Chatham and Discovery Islands. We will then follow the passage up between the two Chathams and then head out east around the top end of Chatham Island and then into the maze of islets around Griffin Island. We will then cross over to the east side of Discovery Island and noddle along this shoreline past the Discovery Island light station until our lunch spot at Rudlin Bay in the provincial marine park. Note there are toilets here at this location!! After lunch, we will head west and noodle the south and west shoreline of Discovery Island and past Commodore Point. Once in this area will cross over Plumper Passage again into the Chain Islets and then back to the marina. After loading up we can head over to the coffee shop and outside patio at the Marina for a coffee and treats paddle debrief. For those that need for 'retail therapy'- we can also browse and shop at the Ocean River Sports Pro Padding shop at the marina!
