The leader may choose to enlist helpers and establish communications protocol. If you have VHF radio please bring it with you.
Plan A:
Hopping through the Chain Group this trip will enter the channel between Chatham and Discovery, turn north to take in the magic of the channel inside the Chathams, then round the top of the Chathams and paddle clockwise past the lighthouse to Rudlin Bay on Discovery Island for the lunch stop. Continuing clockwise, a direct return from Rudlin via the Chain Group to Oak Bay Marina completes the trip. Light current is expected to make the two crossings of Plumper Passage less challenging.
Plan B:
Depending on weather conditions, we may alter the route to stay in the more protected areas of these islands. If conditions are not favourable for this area an alternate launch site and route may be chosen.
