Watch it first (0:49). The written steps below cover the same ground.

SISKA is paid by Interac e-Transfer. Volunteers match each payment to the right person, so a clear message is the biggest help. For the full steps, see Join SISKA or renew and Pay for a clinic or workshop.

Where do I send it, and what goes in the message?

Use the details on your receipt. The club has different e-transfer addresses for membership and for different kinds of activity, so one receipt’s address may not be right for another payment.

  • Membership or renewal: the Send your eTransfer card shows the Amount, who to Send to, and the Message: your last name, then Membership or Renewal, for example Nicol / Membership.
  • Paddle, clinic or workshop: the eTransfer instructions card shows the amount and the address. Put your last name and the activity title in the message, for example Nicol, Rolling Clinic.

Lost the receipt? On a clinic or workshop page, Payment options repeats the e-transfer recipient. If a membership payment hasn’t been recorded, a weekly reminder email repeats the amount and address for the first four weeks.

I sent it with no message, or just my name

It can usually still be matched from the name it came from, the amount and the date, but it may take longer. Don’t send it again. If nothing has changed after a few business days, write to the Treasurer (see the note at the end).

Can one e-transfer cover several people or activities?

Yes, as long as every receipt shows the same address, for example two family members on the same clinic. Send the exact total and name everyone in the message, for example Nicol, Rolling Clinic, Geoff and Ann. If the receipts show different addresses (membership and a clinic, say), send a separate e-transfer to each. One e-transfer per receipt is always the easiest to match.

Someone else paid for me

The payment arrives under the payer’s name, so the message has to say who it is for. Put the registered person’s name and the activity (or Membership) in the message. If it has already gone without that, tell the Treasurer who paid and who it was for.

I paid twice

Don’t send anything more to fix it. Write to the Treasurer with the dates and amounts of both e-transfers. The treasurer can send the extra back, or put it toward another of your registrations that still owes.

I paid the wrong amount, or the fee changed

  • Paid too little, or the fee went up after you paid: send only the difference, to the same address and with the same message. Sending it from the same bank account within a week makes the two payments easy to pair. Not sure what is still owed? Ask the Treasurer.
  • Paid too much: nothing to send. The extra is refunded; tell the Treasurer if you would rather it went toward another registration.

I paid, but nothing has happened

  • Membership: it usually turns on within a couple of business days of your payment arriving, once your waiver is on file too. When you renew, the Join / Renew page shows Your renewal is already in progress, then Your renewal is in the queue once the payment is recorded, then You’re up to date. A reminder email sent before your payment was matched can cross with it; there is no need to pay again.
  • Paddle, clinic or workshop: open the activity. On the Registration card the fee shows Payment due until your payment is recorded, then Paid. A payment is not a seat: the leader or instructor confirms you, and the card then says You’re registered.
  • On the waitlist: don’t pay yet. The waitlist receipt has no payment details. When a spot is offered the card says Spot offered and you get an email. Pay promptly then: on a paid activity the first payment received gets the spot.

Still nothing after a few business days? Write to the Treasurer.

Refunds

  1. Each paid activity shows its Refund policy on the Registration card. Normally you get your money back, less bank fees, if you cancel at least two weeks before. After that, only if someone else takes and pays for your spot. Some activities say No refunds are provided for this event.
  2. To cancel, open the activity and choose Cancel registration, then Confirm cancellation. The page repeats the policy and warns you if you are inside the two weeks.
  3. You don’t need to ask separately. A paid registration that is cancelled, by you or because the club cancels the activity or can’t give you a place, goes on the Treasurer’s list of refunds to review. Refunds are sent by e-transfer.
